Description
Originally written in 1880 and approved by Edward, the Bishop of Nottingham, this book emanated from the Convent of the Maternal Heart of Mary at Nottingham. The sisters there were a nursing community, caring for the sick, educating and preparing them to receive the sacraments.
This book leads the reader to respond to Mary’s call and to sow the seed of loving the Lord in the most Blessed Sacrament, saving souls even at the end of their earthly existence, saving dying sinners, especially those in their last agony.
There are souls in terrible need of our prayers. In this very moment, a soul is departing from its body, lingering yet, as though its guardian angel detained it by ardent prayers, hoping relief may yet come before it is too late. This little book reminds to remember those most destitute and most in need of our prayers and sacrifices. (taken from the Preface of Mary’s Call)
