St. Jude the Apostle
A beautiful hand crafted, hand painted statue from Peru.
St. Jude is often depicted with a flame on his head signifying his presence in the upper room with the other apostles at Pentecost. He is often shown holding an image of Jesus Christ, known as the image of Edessa.
After his martyrdom, many miracles were experienced by pilgrims who came to his grave to pray for hopeless causes; earning him the title of patron saint for lost causes.
One of his namesakes is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, which has helped many children with terminal illnesses and their families since its founding in 1962
